Full refit after partial capsizing of the vessel

During the lifting of the ultra-luxurious 70-meter yacht Nourah of Riyad for antifouling works, the vessel capsized approximately 45 degrees, resulting in water ingress into a significant portion of its interior spaces. Alkyonis Co. was called upon to carry out a demanding, full restoration of the insulation systems — both for operational purposes and to restore the high level of comfort and safety required for a superyacht of this class.

Our intervention included every level of the vessel. In the engine room and control room, Mascoat dB sound damping coating was applied, and all insulation systems (A60 fireproofing, acoustic, and thermal) were renewed using lightweight, multi-layer materials. Additionally, the chilling units and the associated piping systems were insulated with high-specification elastomeric materials to control condensation. Surface cladding was implemented using anti-vibration support framing and synthetic aluminum panels, while the exhausts of the main engines and generators were treated with a combination of stainless-steel protective coverings and removable thermal insulation blankets.

On the bilge deck, fireproof insulation was applied on the fuel tanks area and in the hi-fog areas, where cladding of the insulated surfaces was also carried out. Thermal insulation was applied to the freshwater tanks area and the pump room, using special anti-condensation materials.

On the lower deck, extensive works were carried out (A60 fire insulation, thermal insulation, and cladding) in areas such as the beach club, garage, technical spaces, as well as passenger and crew cabins. Additionally, the lobby and the lift were protected with A60 insulation. Similar interventions were carried out on the main deck, covering the main saloon, galley, main entrance, and high-comfort areas such as the VIP cabin and the owner’s suite.

On the upper deck, thermal insulation was restored in the dining area, and sound absorption and structural noise damping solutions were applied on the bridge area.

Finally, on the sun deck, the insulation of the chilling pipe system was replaced, and a combination of thermal insulation and Mascoat DTM coating was applied in the gym and crew cabin areas.

Notably, the freshwater piping system was insulated throughout the vessel, ensuring energy efficiency and moisture protection along its entire length.
